Shoulder pain

The shoulder complex is composed of four joints and 19 muscles. It links the trunk to the upper limbs and plays an important biomechanical role in daily activities.

Pain in the shoulder region can be the result of ligament strain or inflammation leading to conditions such as tendonitis and bursitis. Altered alignment in the shoulder blades can also contribute to muscle imbalance and therefore affect quality of shoulder movements.

Physiotherapy can be very helpful to relieve the symptoms of shoulder ache. With a correct diagnosis, hands-on treatment, postural advice, and an exercise programme tailored to your needs you can get back to your usual fitness level and pain-free movement.
