What is Women’s Health Physiotherapy and what are the benefits?

Women’s Health Physiotherapy is a person oriented, evidenced based approach for pelvic health.

It aims to restore function of the pelvic floor muscles in relation to surrounding structures, visceral organs and breathing mechanism.

This integrated approach offers women bespoke treatment and covers three aspects of recovery:

1. Various manual techniques for conditions related to the spine, abdomen, pelvis and pelvic floor muscles.

2. Educating the patient about anatomy of the pelvis, pelvic floor muscles, the urogenital and reproductive system, different breathing patterns, defecation mechanism, sexual health, posture, exercise and lifestyle advice.

3. Reassuring and empowering women on the road to optimal wellbeing.
